Description

Archana translates to offering. Shiva Archana is the offering made to Shiva.
Archana is one of the nine modes of Bhakti (devotion) in which one makes offerings to God. As per Vedantic tradition, the Universe is perceived as a being bearing a definite form capable of bringing changes to nature and its aspects as it wills. This acts as a more comprehensive idea of the Universe when the idea of an infinite Universe seems overwhelming to a regular individual.
In the early stages, the spiritual aspirant makes physical offerings to his physically manifest God, of what seems best to him like flowers, fragrance (incense) and the like as per the best of his ability. As the seeker ascends spiritually, he finds no meaning in the offering of physical objects to an eternal spiritual being. He then makes the best of his actions to the world around him as offerings to his Lord. Eventually he gains the mindset where he offers himself ( Not to be confused with physical sacrifice). As he makes his spiritual quest inwards through meditative worship, he finds that he is not just his physical body, but within it lays what he truly is; a fragment of the very Universe on which he meditates. He becomes one with truth he seeks, discovering that all which appears different is only an illusion( Adhvaita) and becomes a channel through which the Universe offers its love to the world.

This drawing has been made after a tradition of pictures that depict Shri Ganesh and Krishna together in play and worship.
